Rockabilly Music

Posted in General Comments on August 6, 2008 by totahadmin

First of all I want to appologize to those who came to the Three Bad Jacks show. With the band getting in so late, we didn’t have time to sound check and the volume was way out of control. The lead singer had his amp turned up too high and I had a hard time controlling the rest of the mix because of it. I also want to appologize for the language they used on stage. The Totah prides itself in being a family friendly environment and the promoter failed to relay that to the band. The show was great and they want to come back but I will make sure that volume and language are under control next time. Thanks to all that came out. I hope you had a great time. I knew there were a bunch of closet rockabilly freaks out there. We’ll make sure and keep that type of music coming to The Totah. Thanks!

Off Topic - Gun Control

Posted in General Comments with tags , , , , on June 25, 2008 by totahadmin

1911Lately I have been very unhappy at the way our country is being run into the ground. Mainly by liberals but ALL people in office are to blame. I have written about a few things that have really upset me. One of them is about gun control.

Gun ownership does not cause OR prevent crime. A gun is simply a tool. You can use a wrench to fix a car or tear it apart. You can use a hammer to build a house or tear it down.

Guns are not mysterious things that control people. I have never seen a gun kill someone. I have never seen a car get drunk and take out a whole family. A gun cannot do anything unless it is in the hands of a person.

GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM… IT IS HOW MANY ASSHOLES THERE ARE THAT”S THE PROBLEM!

Gun laws try to treat symptoms and not problems. The only law that should be in place on guns (or any weapon i.e. knives, hammers, baseball bats etc.) should be, if you use a weapon during a crime, you get a stiff mandatory sentence. If you have committed a felony, you lose your right to own or carry ANY weapon.

People in this country are stupid. You can have freedom and rely on yourself to defend that freedom or you can rely on the government to protect you and give up your freedom. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS! Freedom and regulation do not mix. Freedom is deciding for your self what is right and what is wrong. Government agencies such as the military and police have no way to protect you. They can only react to an attack. If you give up your freedoms, such as gun ownership, in order for the government to “protect” you. You are insane. YOU are responsible for YOUR own protection and defense. Can you do that without a gun? Maybe. But it is your right to decide what method of protection you want to use (if any protection at all).

If you decide to carry a gun, it is your responsibility to learn to use that tool effectively. If you don’t, you are putting others in danger. You see, guns are not dangerous… people are dangerous. The first man killed was done so with the jawbone of an ass. There is no way to regulate tools that can be used to kill.

We must punish those that kill, not the tools they use to kill.
